Today in Southwest Calgary, Xiao Jun, a dedicated volunteer with the iCare uCare Association, exemplified the spirit of community service by delivering essential items to a couple in need. The “Elderly Door-to-Door Service” initiative he represents provided timely support to these seniors—one recuperating from a hospital stay and the other recently having undergone cataract surgery and unable to leave their home. This swift and compassionate response highlights iCare uCare’s commitment to the well-being of the elderly in our community.
In another act of kindness, Mr. Luo Qidong, a fellow community member, took it upon himself to repair a malfunctioning microwave for an elderly resident facing difficulties. Braving the recent adverse weather, he made multiple trips to ensure the appliance was fixed. His modest reply when thanked—”You all do so much for our seniors; consider this my way of contributing”—reflects a deep sense of solidarity and care prevalent among the volunteers.
These stories of generosity and support are what make the iCare uCare Association thrive. We are profoundly thankful for such selfless dedication, proving that the collective efforts of individuals can significantly enhance the quality of life for many. Thank you to everyone whose selfless contributions make a profound impact!
